CUSTOMS:   BMX Banana Seat posted by: James Donohue on 9/29/2001 at 4:07:05 PM
Well it looks like the hard drive crash wiped out my messages.
I built a Banana seat for a BMX bike with a styrofoam core and epoxy fiberglass over that. Works great, supports my 230 pound bulk. The important thing is the seat allows me to move my butt back where I'm comfortable.
My other bike is now in the gallery at www.bikerodnkustom.com
I also made some photocopies of the original photos of that bike (4 to a page) captioned them "Fiberglass Ladies Bicycle by Mellisa Manning" and have been tacking them up to telephone poles. I hope people get the idea that radical bikes are actual hardware, not just an idea.
I know i didn't retype this message exactly as it appeared before the hard drive crashed, In fact I combined two messages.

Brian,
Though I have not seen them in years, When I was a kid (60's and 70's)there was someone(I forget the name) who made 12" chorme bolt on extensions for these bikes. You could get them in all the bike shops and even K-Mart. They worked and looked good. They where all the rage in southern Calif.after Easy Rider hit big. You may find someone out in Calif that can find you some used or N.O.S. ones. Good luck.

LOWRIDERS:   where to order a lowrider online??? posted by: Tim P. on 8/30/2001 at 12:08:15 PM
Looking for a reputable dealer to order a lowrider online. New to the lowrider craze and the only place that I have stumbled across so far is Ridable Bicycle Replicas. They seem to have a nice assortment of bikes which would easily fit my requirements. Is this the best place to get one?? LMK. Thanks, Tim P.

Hi Tim,
I usually order my Bikes and parts @ http://www.lovelylowrider.com . I never had any problems with them.
Also, I want to check out http://www.hiwheel.com, because they have those 24K-Plated stuff. I hope their stuff is of a good quality. Will see.
I know of http://www.zenital.com/prod02-bajitas.htm - but somebody told me that they don't have that good quality.
Best Quality but highest prices and a poor assortment has http://www.aztlanbicycle.com/

Hope this helped.
Cheers.
Sebastian

They sell "Bajitas" and "Aztlan"-stuff at low prices.

I see them in Thrift Stores in the winter. Not too common but they do show up for $50 - $100 or so. I have never seen a Schwinn show up in the last 10 years!
