AGE / VALUE:ANY 411 posted by: J on 4/21/2007 at 8:40:54 AM
I have an old bike that I have no idea what it is. The rear hub says New Departure Model D. It has ape hanger bars and the rear tire has GTX-442 Tractor Grip, 20 x2.125, on it.
The serial number is 834439, and a banana seat that is white w/ flowers.

Any help or direction would be great.

Thanks.

MISC:"Milton De Luxe" info wanted posted by: Edie on 4/20/2007 at 9:50:58 PM
I have a "Milton De Luxe". I can't find any info on this make anywhere. The white banana seat was made in Holland if that is any help. It is a girl's bike and is red in color and has extra curly handlebars that appear to be original and very cool. There is a "flat rack" for lack of better word under the seat and over the fender. Any info would be great! Thanks

The Columbia Pony banana seat bike (girls 20" bike, white with blue fenders and chain guard with a Pony head on it), was my childhood bike. I got it when I was 4, in 1976, at Mickeys Bike Shop in Chicopee, MA.

I have two schwinn fastbacks Iam putting together and I can use some help. One is a 1970, blue and in unrestored condition but needs a chain guard, a rear fendor, and handgrips. The fork has been changed and I would like to put one on that matches the original old blue paint. Same for the chain guard. The other one is a 1968. What colors did they use that year? That one I sandblasted and I want to make a nice collector piece for my gandson. I also need a chain guard for that, plus a derailur. Thank you and I Will apppreciate any help you may have

You can find out what years the Fastbacks were made with which colors by looking at the "Sting-Ray Summary" under the "General Resources" section here at oldroads.

In the archive I found a message from Roar S saying that he has a list of Oegland production figures based
on frame numbers. If you´re reading could you tell me the stats of a bike number 3361140. I found this bike from a farmsted of my relatives near Helsinki city in Finland. It looks like Oegland Apache but seems older. Maybe it's a Crossmaster?

AGE / VALUE:circa 1970 Chrome-plated Sears Spyder... posted by: Don F on 3/23/2007 at 4:46:30 PM
Hi... I have a Sears Spyder, cica 1969-1970, which I received new as a child -- in fact I still own it. It is identical to the 1970 one pictured in your photo section of Sears bikes ---chrome frame, white & red flamed seat, etc., but it has a different Sears chainguard and a white-T-handle three-speed shifter. If anyone can point me in the direction of how find Sears advertising images of that bike from magazines or catalogs, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'd include photos of it, but it's in storage on the opposite coast, but I hope to have it again soon.

Just found out that this bike WAS STOLEN from my mother's house in Massachusetts by a contractor working there... it is identical to the one in the photo data base ( http://OldRoads.com/pqdb_img.asp?p=fdbdown.asp?1273&mod=Spyder_Mark_II_&mak=Sears ), except that it has the newer, shorter, fake-"vented" full chainguard, and it had a white three-speed T-handle shifter. PLEASE contact me if you ever see this bike anywhere!!! Thank-you.

There's a 1968 Avenger in the picture database, but it's an Avenger 5.
The archives have about a dozen discussions on your Avenger 324. Use the google search box above and be sure to search oldroads.com, not the web.
