I have a high wheeler bike and don't have alot of knowledge about it. I am interested in learning more about it. I was hoping that I could get some direction on where to turn. Even just what to look for on the bike to confirm who made it, it's age, and where it came from. I'm in Ontario, so any ideas of anybody around that I could visit with the bike would be a great help

AGE / VALUE:   Vintage tricycle posted by: Bud on 8/30/2004 at 3:34:45 PM
I purchased a vintage tricycle from an estate in Independence, Texas. It has been repainted I was told by the daughter of the estate when she got it as a hand me down in the 1940's it is about 36 inches takk at the center of the handlebars which have wooden black ends. On the seat is Made in the USA and I think either Troxel or Trexel? The seat is black leather. the front wheel is 20 inches round and the two back wheels are 14 inches round. Does anyone know anything about this tricycle? Thanks BUD

AGE / VALUE:   ID vintage Aurelia/Italy hiwheel , mystery bike ? posted by: Terry Barham on 8/12/2004 at 3:44:57 AM
Anyone heard of this bike ?... info appreciated . Bought @ estate auction today , VERY unusual (childs ?) hiwheel Aurelia Italy (decal). 20" front pnumatic/presta , tiny solid rear w/caliper brake , cabel routed internally ! seatpost , "jolly" , saddle B D . I'd guess 60's-70's . Exausting searches only come up w/ Lancia Aurelia sports car (though 1 site mentions Gia made bikes during ww II (no details) , Arulia was the name of one of the flying Wallendas though this doesnt look to be a great bike to "freeride" across a wire , sans net . Finally via Arulia (tuscany) old Roman road and addr of Olmo cycles .

Were you ever able to get any info on your Aurelia high wheeler? We've had one for over 15 years that is the same as your description. We've also searched the Internet since we're now wanting to sell it.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   ID vintage Aurelia/Italy hiwheel , mystery bike ? posted by Don Christenson on 12/15/2004 at 11:09:48 PM
Here's a bit of additional info I found. I think it was made by Aurelia Dino SpA in Borgo San Dalmazzo, Italy, who made children's bicycles and other things.

I have an Aurelia high wheeler I'm trying to sell and am trying to estimate how old it is. Can you remember about when you rode one in Palermo?

I too have one of these high wheel bicycles. It was given to us by a good friend that recently sold his 200+ bicycle collection. He actually gave it to my son as a Christmas present. It is exactly as described above. I am in need of a new brake cable. This example also has a small rubber case that hangs under the seat. It is a light blue color with red hand grips. Has anyone found any other information?

I was recently given one of those same bikes described here. A bit rusty & hard to read the labels, but this is certainly the same one. My customer said he bought it for his boy/boys to ride, so given that his son is my age (mid 50s) I estimated the bike at about 50 years old. Any other info would be appreciated. Kevin

I have a small bike that is front wheel pedal. It is basically black paint in color, but has a western pictorial painted on the front fender. The seat is metal and the tires are hard rubber similar to what is found on standard trikes. Anyone have an idea as to make or name? Please let me know. Thanks.
