I believe I have a 1907 Iver Johnson light weight bike. It has 28" wood filled wheelset, 7 looking seat post. The handle bar, stem and lower front fork ends are nickle plated. The drive mechanism is 1" skiptooth. The most distingushing mark is a additional single bar that (support) that is welded to the down tube/headtube which curves upward touching the top tube and back down into the seat tube. Is any one familiar with this bike or could give me some advise to restore it? Thanks Ed Santos San Jose CA.

What you have is an Iver johnson truss bridge bike. It is fashioned after era truss bridges. I beautiful version is in one of the popular coffe table bike books...Pridmore is the author I think. I'll post it when I find out. Other bikes makers made a version of this bike also. I just sold a frame set of one of these, but I couldn't get the crank off without risking destroying it. None of my local experts could help me. The bike was painted black or red, and had a truss bridge decal on the seat tube. It has the early' distinctive Iver Johnson badge with the red celuloid filler. Some models came with fenders. Good luck, Art

WANTED:   Bike store decals & registration stickers posted by: Bob H on 4/13/2000 at 2:21:38 PM
I am looking for the stickers issued in the '70's from town bicycle registrations, and also, old bike dealer decals. I know they are hard to take off in one piece, and even harder to find in good shape, but there must be someone who collects them out there. Thank you, Bob.

You'll have better luck asking your question under the "balloon tire and muscle bike topic", but they sell on Ebay for between $800 and $1000 or more, depending on condition and options

Where is the Ann arbor bike swap meet located??

The correct date is April 30, 2000 posted by steve on 3/7/2000 at 12:05:26 PM
There was a mistake on the Ann Arbor/Saline web site. It listed the date of the show as the 23. The event is actually the 30th of April.

The web site has now been corrected. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The Ann Arbor/Saline show and swap is located at the Washtenaw County fairgrounds about a half hour east of Detroit, Michigan. Go to the web site to see a map.
