MISC:   80s Collegiates posted by: Sue on 5/7/2008 at 5:27:14 PM
Hi. I have just purchased a matched set of blue Collegiates made in Tawian for Schwinn, for 80$. They have the original gumwalls on them that are crumbling and the lady's bike is missing the rear reflector. The man's bike has the an number 70 stamped in the tube just below the seat and the lady's bike has a number 65. The man's bike has a 2103 on the badge and the lady's is stamped 2523. Anybody know what that 70 and the 65 on the tubes mean? I can figure out the date of mfg but the other numbers have me stumped. Is $80 for the pair reasonable? Both are in good working order except the tires and the finish has some normal scuff but no dings and dents. What type of tires are a good swap? Thx!

I was just given a red and whote bike that is marked Derby. I was told it was early 50's. I can't find any inforamtion on the maker or what year or origin of this bike . Its in pretty fair shape without rust so Im curious if its worth do the little restoring. I know it gets costly we have restored Many Schwinn Cruisers and a tandam over the years as a family but this one is going to be my own personal project. Any info that you have or a actual like that has Derby brand bike of it would greatly be apreciated. Even a stock photo of the bike so I can restore it.

WANTED:   fischer original german 3 speed posted by: wesley jones on 4/13/2008 at 2:06:29 PM
I just bought a beautifull vintage german bike I think circa 195x that rides brilliantly and is fully functional. I cannot however find any information about it online. Is this bike collectable? it certainly has a lot of charm. Its a bit small for me though and I am open to trades.

two bikes. girls. schwinns. small frames. one has EE59153 near rear axle. (by the way, my other posts 15 character ser. was also near rear axle). the sprocket has 12 open squares around the edge. the bike also has a detachable bar across the top of frame that makes it a boy bike. the other bike is just as small as the first but has banana seat and the sprocket has 5 sets of 3 rectangularish shapes (15 holes total). the shapes get smaller as you get to the center of sprocket. may have baby ape hangers....don't wanna go back outside. thanks.

I have a BSA Golden Wing bicycle that I purchased in 1975. It was originally a four speed that had been converted to an eight speed. At the time I purchased the bike, I was told that it was over fifty years old. I cannot find any information regarding the Golden Wing and need help to find out the age of my BSA. It is in good, riding condition and has been kept inside the 30 odd years I have owned it.

I also have a BSA Golden Wing bicycle with Sturmey Archer 4 speed hub gears. I bought it on ebay a couple of years ago and was told it was from about 1948 but I have been unable to confirm this but if yours is similar to mine I would think it unlikely it was as much as 50 years old in 1925.

does anyone know anything about a B.F. Goodrich Vanguard II trike? I'm about to get one.....it's in great shape, but would like to know a little bit more about it. It looks like it was perhaps made in the 50's or 60's....any thoughts?
