WANTED OLD FOLDING ROYCE UNION CRANKSET.BIKE MADE IN GERMANY
by 4.172.18.191

Is this a pressed in cup style bottom bracket? Or is this threaded into the frame? If you don~t know send me a photo of the left side of the frame close up of the crankset. I am an expert on old folding bicycles and a very good chance I have or can get the parts.

WANTED 26 mens-boys ballooner rusty!
« Reply #3 on: November 09, 2011, 09:09:59 am »
Posted on: 1-4-2006 by Michael
Hello Im tired of trying to find something on ebay so I thought I would try here I~m looking for an old mens-boys 26" ballooner from the 40s-early 50s or so I~m not after any certain make but I want something that is very rusty frame wise something that looks like it was pulled out of a scrapyard or a barn and has been sitting there for a good 20 years- rusty but at least looks like it will hold up (I plan to ride it that way im not "restoring". I dont need the rims or tires with it as they will probably be shot anyways but I need everything else to be there; for a resonable price please.. look in your pile of dregs as long as the frame-forks arent bent its useable to me send photos if you have anything that might interest me.. Thanks a lot!

FOR SALE 1968 Schwin Varsity 10 speed
« Reply #5 on: November 09, 2011, 09:09:59 am »
Posted on: 1-5-2006 by Kelley
I have this 1968 schwin varsity.  Great condition all original parts.  How much do you think I can get for it?  Just starting my search.
by 71.106.178.87
Posted on: 1-6-2006 by JimW.
I don~t know about right now but a couple of years ago the snobs on the Schwinn forums referred to the Varsity as a $10 bike.

This is because there were so many of them made and sold and that they were pretty heavy for lightweight bikes. The same applied to the Schwinn Continental. I owned one of those but when I needed to get rid of it for the space it was occupying my local bike shop guy would only take it on consignment with a $50 price tag. It was a beautiful example of the breed too. A middleweight Schwinn of the same vintage and condition would probably go for at least a couple of hundred.

Eventually when Varsitys and Continentals become more scarce a well-preserved one will be worth some serious money to a completist collector; but it~ll take a while for that to happen. They~re just too well made to disintegrate naturally.

I know that Doodlebug motor scooters were sold with Western Flyer headbadges. But if you mean sidewalk scooters I don~t know. It sounds logical though.
