FOR SALE 1975 Raleigh Superbe
« Reply #690 on: November 09, 2011, 09:09:59 am »

Good looking survivor from July 1975 is a Raleigh Superbe Gents roadster in the original forest green. The mechanical rod brakes work beautifully. The air pump is still attached and works as well! It has the full generator light set with the super rare hard to find sturmey archer Dynoluxe FSU battery case and rear hub with built in generator that allows the lights to stay on even when stopped at a stop sign. The seat tube measures 20 1-2" from the top of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube. Tires size is 26 x 1 3-8. Bike is located in So Cal. Would like to sell to someone local to avoid shipping.

Is this Fairy tricycle still available?  Or another one?
I know someone that would like to purchase such a tricycle to sit in a Victorian home and be ridden by a granddaughter.

I have a 1898 Fairy trike with tiller type steering size would be right for a 10-12 year old all original good condition and complete. Whats it worth?

I wondered if this tricycle was sold, and if so, what price was obtained?  There is one in the area and am thinking of trying to purchase it for a fair price.

This is a significant piece. I would be most grateful to see some nice closeup pictures. I~m not in the market I just want to see and learn...
As to value I suggest you contact Copake auction for info. On copakeauction.com you can look at post sale info including last year~s auction estimates and realized prices- from the looks of it they estimate the 19th C stuff pretty accurately.
