Mick
I have a bike like yours that I bought at a swap meet when I was drunk about 15 years ago.
I started restoring it but have taken a new interest in it lately. These old bikes had
the Thunderjet logo w-Jet Plane screen printed with paint on the tank and chain guard.
They weren~t decals. I am 61 and a dying breed of artists called Sign Painters. I can
reproduce what you want in REAL PAINT! not computer generated vinyl graphics. I have traced
the logo for my bike and have kept it on file. If you~re looking to have someone like me
letter your bike authentically & exact it would probably cost around $200. E- me back if
even if that shocks you. I have to make a living but it would be great to talk about the bikes
even if you don~t want my services. Thanks hope to hear from you....Toby

I have a Monarch Galaxie in pretty good condition. Minimal surface rust in a few spots. The whitewall tires are in really good shape. Does anyone have an idea of what this bike is worth?? Thank you in advance for your time.

MISC goodyear double eagle
« Reply #680 on: November 09, 2011, 09:09:59 am »
Posted on: 12-19-2006 by MIKE
TO ANYONE WITH INFO
I HAVE "goodyear double eagle" FEMALE BIKE TIRE FT 26X1.75 AND THE REAR IS THE SAME.  IT IS IN FAIR TO ROUGH CONDITION. I HAVE NOT CLEANED IT UP YET I DO NOT WANT TO DO SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. I RECEIVED IT FROM MY AUNT WHO IS REALLY OLD.  I THINK IT IS THE ORIGINAL PAINT AND IT AND THE RIMS ARE RUSTY.  IT HAS BENDIX ON THE BACK AXLE (IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING). IT HAS A SEAT THAT I THINK IS ORIGINAL (IT LOOKS LIKE A BUTTON ON SEAT) AND IT HAS TWO SPIRING TYPE SHOCKS ON THE FRONT OF THE BIKE.
ONE IS IT WORTH ANYTHING?
TWO SHOULD I WORK ON IT
AND THREE WHAT IF ANYTHING IS IT WORTH. I THINK THE SERIAL NUMBER IS F54442 OR F5H442 THE STAMP IS HARD TO READ.
THANKS IN ADVANCED
MIKE PS (SORRY FOR TYPING IN CAPS)

The two-spring shock makes it a little interesting. Determine its age before you do anything that can~t be undone. Search the picture database here or there~s a huge collection of photos on Nostalgic.net- find one that looks like it. Post a picture of yours here or on the database.

MISC Berardi??

I have an old Berardi frame. Has anyone ever heard of this frame? (It has cable guides brazed onto the top of the top tube. And it has brazed on shifter mounts on the diagonal down-tube from the headset). I am very interested to know any information in regard to this frame and if I can acquire frame stickers.

I believe Berardi was an Italian make or import of some sort. I came across one recently (but didn~t buy it - asking too much for it) - seemed nice Columbus tubing with chrome stays and forks....

When I was a child I had this bike and I can~t find.  It was gold.  It had a wide back tire with white lettering.  It had a big bananna seat.  It also had this unique chain guard tall on one end.  Do you have a pic or model?

WANTED Rear brake drop bolt
« Reply #686 on: November 09, 2011, 09:09:59 am »
Posted on: 12-23-2006 by Steve Bostwick
I have a mid 70~s road bike I finished rebuilding....Campy Zeus and Cinelli components on a custom (ie. don~t know who built it) 531 frame.  Found a period campy brake set but the rear is short reach. I need about a 1-4" drop and don~t want file out the brake arms or otherwise screw up the brakes.  A couple of Pasadena Ca  shops have told me there is a drop-bolt adapter available and one shop says they can get one made by Campy for like $60! If I could fabricate one I would.  Can anyone point me in the right direction!

I need info regarding the best way to remove the chromed piece of metal which covers the twin springer fork on a 1952 Firestone Super Cruiser bike.  The chrome piece on my bike is badly deteriorated and dented.  Can anyone help on this?  I would be greatly appreciative.  Thank you....

The only thing holding it on is the bearing race above it. Pry the race up and the chrome cover should be free.
