British Ordinary help
« on: January 09, 2012, 04:20:21 am »
Hi, props on the new forum!

I may end up with this old gal at some point. I know it's British with the wrong rear wheel, spokes and Columbia pedals.  Can another help with frame maker or saddle frame?  Thanks!

Hmmm.... Maybe Keith Body would have insight.  He's usually spotted in the English Roadster discussion area...

Pretty machine nonetheless!!!!

Hi Larry, this is slightly older than I am. Is the main backbone and the forks cast iron? which would make it very heavy. I have seen front wheels spoked in that way, where a single spoke starts at the rim and bends at the hub and back to the rim.
The steering head looks as if there is very little steering movement.

Not much help here Frank.

Good to hear from you guys,  It's 1885/6 Surrey machines "invincible" in pretty good shape. The frame is iron and seems to have a couple of splices where it was brazed together. It's 47 lbs and needs a bit of love.

I need to find part of a front rim (to do a splice repair) and a whole rear wheel at a price that won't require I sell my motor vehicle.  The hub might bronze and the rear wheel would be 18" .
