Raleigh Sports Bike 10-Speed England?
« on: May 01, 2014, 12:37:25 pm »
Hoping someone has information about my bike.  It's a Raleigh Sports English Bike 10-Speed.  I have done a lot of research online and have not found much information about it.  I was originally told it was a bike dating to 1971 but I also read that it could be a 1964 bike.

The only mark I can find is an "X" on the bottom of where the pedals are.

Any information and value would be appreciated.  thanks!

Check the dyno hub. It will be date marked and that will give you an estimate for the date of the bicycle. Looks 1960s to me. Nice bike, hideous pedals, no bearings in them at all. Change them for some period sports pedals, Leotard or Raleigh, even Union.

And through all, I had a ball.

Not easy to see, but it looks like a Raleigh made in their Carlton factory in Worksop. Low end bike.
Surely not original brakes.
