AGE / VALUE:   Columbia Sterling posted by: David on 10/31/2009 at 12:39:52 PM
I just posted a question and discovered I accidentally posted it in for sale wanted lol so I want to post again in this section to see if I get an answer quicker then on that other page!.
I have a Columbia Sterling, Womans model big balloon tire bike!
I cannot find the age as the serial doesnt match this sites list! it seems to be 02621 oe 0262I
Baloon tires Carlisle Tire & Rubber Division, Lightening DART. No head badge, nice big fenders, Seat back says By Persons, Columbia, USA!
Normally I would expect to find a year stamped on the rear hub but there was nothing however the front hub had Germany 491 or 49I! My understanding was you add a year if the 49 is 1949 then I assume this is a 1950 bike but would like to know for certain! Thanks for any help, David...

DAvid, does it resemble any in the picture database on this site? There are also a few Columbias on the picture archive at nostalgic.net
