Took a flyer and bought a Schauff Tandem.... Not alot of info. Likely early 70s. Anyone know much about them? How to date? The bike that is!! Any pointers appreciated.

Is that a Shimanp 3-speed? Many Japanese components have date codes. Check component makers and look them up on the component page on vintage-trek.com

It is a Shimano 3 speed. I havent tried to date it but I think I can safely say it is a 71 or 72. After scrutinizing the label on the passenger seat post it appears to be a 72 munich commerative.
So I cleaned her up a tad. Got her to shift and stop...damn this thing rides like a dream. Had a Twosome growing up that was a tank.
Sadly the paint appears to be purposely distressed. You know like when they want to give pine a fashionable dent here and there. Oh well...it is a great ride for the 49.00

I have bike that looks like yours but is single and folding. Any info on yours might help me find name and value of mine.
