I got some WW Kenda 26 x 1 1/2 tires from Nashbar for my T&C tandem. Boy, do they look great! A bargain at $15. Don't know if they plan to stock them "permanently" or they got a batch by mistake!

I dont know much about bikes, but i came across a Schwinn Speedster in my grandmothers garage and i was going to begin to restore it. The back tire was not functioning correctly so i took it to the "bike doctor" I wanted to replace the wheel and unfortunelty they were unable to find a wheel that fit. He told me that this size tire was only used for about 4 years. I was just trying to find a little more information on this bike. I dont know much about bikes at all!! Can anyone help???

Tires are still available, you just need to know where to look. You can post the size here and someone may have one, or go to ebay.com and search, or post a wanted to buy at schwinnbikes.com. I'm guessing you need either a 26 x 1 3/8 for S5 or S6 rim, or if you have an early Speedster you need a 26 x 1 3/4 for S7. Let us know.

After rereading your post, I should add that if you in fact do need an entire wheel, you should be able to find one of those as well if you let us know what size you need.

Have had bike since '71 and repainted a few times. Just recently discovered the model and year of the frame. It has the orig frame, rims, brakes, and gearing (skip tooth). When I recieved the bike it was set up like a stingray. Need opinion -- Do I 'refurbish, restore or ? and do I try to put it back to the 'original' look or just fix it back up in the muscle bike look? I would need to find fenders, handle bar set up and seat for the 1950's look.

Unless you're comfortable with its musclebike look, it would be rather customary to restore it to OG status.
