trying to figure out what model and year is my childhood bike is.i went to website for serial numbers and found that according to charts it is a 1956 but looking at pictures of old bikes on the web i dont see any that are like mine. the frame has a straight bar going from the headtube to the tube for the crank. the seat clamp appears to be brazed to the seat post. the chain is skiptooth and has 9 hole teardrop openings at the pedal sprocket. the serial number is v77359. any info would be appreciated by: 66.170.53.222 |
I just bought a Texas Ranger at an estate sale. It needs to be restored, but am having a hard time finding anything out about the bike. The tank says Texas Ranger. The chain guard says Texas Rangerette special. It is a boys bike.. could the chain guard be off a girls bike? I know nothing about this brand other than the basics. If anyone has an information, or better yet, sites I can go do.. I'd appreciate it. Thanks by: 168.103.80.117 |
Ok, Now I'm fairly confused. I now don't understand who made the bike. Initially I thought it was Montgomery Ward, but now I'm finding out about "Roadmaster". I'm completly confused. I also know that the Chain Guard is from a girls bike. Any help or input would be helpful. by: 168.103.80.117 |
I don't know anything about Ranger bikes, but Cleveland Welding made bikes sold under their brand name Roadmaster, and also made bikes for Montgomery Wards sold as Hawthorne. Cleveland Welding also sold bikes through Gambles Hardware sold under the name Hiawatha. by: 66.113.47.14 |
Thanks Gordon. I'll probably be posting more questions as I narrow down to what model/make this is. Looks like it might be a bit more research than I had anticipated. Thanks again. by: 168.103.80.117 |

...or Autocycle, B6, or Panther, to name a few. Take a look at pictures on this site and at http://nostalgic.net/arc/bicycles/ The Phantoms and Panthers have chrome fenders. What's the location of the serial #? by: 66.225.46.227 |

Does anyone out in bicycle land have access to 26" SPACELINER parts? Or perhaps have a contact for me that might have access? THANK YOU! by: 152.163.101.7 |
What parts do you need? I have a few things. by: 66.113.47.14 |
Hi Gordon, I have a complete bike, just some parts are pretty rusty and if I could find other parts that are not so rusty it would make my life easier. Can you e-mail me a list of what you may have? by: 205.188.117.71 |
Sorry, I just don't have the time to go through the 150+ bikes I have here and try to guess what parts you need. by: 66.113.47.14 |
Fair enough. Front and rear fender, gooseneck, batter-pack for under fender, chainguard. Thank you again! by: 66.152.201.42 |
