i just got a 1950-1960 huffy galaxie need to get some info on it verry frustrated only thing i know is the serial # 3h089892 if anyone knows any thing please let me know unable to find anything on the web. by: 65.31.253.155 |
Okay, so I finally found this serial #--I guess the light hit the bike just right today that it took 5 days to find it. Anyway, I'm not sure if I have the entire number, or if part of it got sanded down--it's hard to tell. But it's really frustrating finding any info at all on Western Flyer serial #'s--can't find anything anywhere and I'm still waiting on NBHAA to answer my email. Here's what it looks to be: 1H 724854 Does this mean anything to anyone, or does anyone know how to decode a WF serial #? Thanks, Chris by: 68.69.96.34 |
H is more then likely the 8th mounth Auguist of maybe 61 ,71, or 51. Thats the 1 stands for. That a good guess on most number systems. by: 192.252.1.3 |
Hi, I saw a Monark Roadster girls bike at a flea market for $400. I took a picture, but don't have my camera on me now to upload it. It looks to be all original and in pretty good shape. It's sort of a light pastel green and white. I'm sure a picture would help, but any idea the value of this? Is $400 sort of high? I can't find any information on that particular model anywhere to get a better idea. Thanks, Chris by: 68.69.96.34 |
It depends on what model. If it's a pre-war Sivler King, $400 might be good. If it's a 24" middleweight, the price shouldn't even be $100. by: 205.179.119.99 |
It's definitely a 24" bike. It doens't say Silver King on the head badge--just Monark. Okay, so I thought it was pretty overpriced myself. Thanks by: 68.69.96.34 |
I found a male Blue Schwinn Phantom in my grandfathers barn and to my understanding it being the color blue makes it rare. I would say that it is in pretty good condition the only problems i see is that the front headlight on the fender is broke and the cover is off of the seat. There was also a female BF Goodrich Crusader/ Challenger that is Blue/White it looks like it is in perfect condition with only a little rust on the handle bars and the front basket. If anyone has any information about these bikes i would appreciate some info. I will try and get some pics so i can show any responders. Thanks, Brett by: 12.175.230.58 |
It sounds like you have a nice set of his and hers Deluxe Schwinns, DONT be foooled by low offers, investigate them well, your setting on a pile of loot, and not hundreds either. good luck, and remember, NO painting. buy original parts used off Ebay, and expect to pay a lot Good Luck by: 24.231.252.250 |
Does your Phantom have chrome fenders? The Phantom fenders were chrome & the Schwinn B-6 fenders were painted. I had heard that the only blue Phantom's were female & they came out in Christmas of 1955. Happy Collecting!!! by: 66.45.143.249 |
