What is your deal? Where is the profanity? Why can't someone state their opinion? You are hardly an authority, and come accross as more of a whiner. Spend decent money, and you will have some decent bikes. Please GO AWAY!

what my deal is,there is entirely too much B S on this site...it doesnt seem to be getting any better.......and this attitude of"my bikes nicer/cost more" is shamefull..i thought we all got over that by fourth grade?....if you cant say anything informative AND nice,or post in a decent fashion, then why are you posting??? to show that you know more than someone else???...thats great...why cant you post in a pleasant manner, instead of trashing the person??...we do want to learn, but not by being trashed on every post.....some of you "talk" about respect, and then your very next post is trashing some poor unfortunate...thats real nice....and what is the deal with being Rich too????..we are all human beings with feelings, irregardless of Money...some of us dont have a lot of money, and so dont try to buy the NOS stuff...whats wrong with that??..you guys who post trashing people for buying their "junk" bikes....whats wrong with you???.....and why cant you EXPLAIN whats right/wrong on the bike, etc, instead of trashing???.........and, because i know there will be retalitory posts to this one......yes i have made bad posts myself....but at least i can admit i was wrong, and apologize...and i Do apologize to anyone i have offended...i have never claimed to be an expert/authority,and in fact i come here to learn from you guys who Know whats up..instead of insulting and trashing us,why not teach us??....this "trashing" has to stop...the same BS has shut down websites(remember the schwinn site?)...its ruined peoples enjoyment....why cant there be mutual respect for the people???....Rich/Poor...why does it matter!!...this website is about the bikes, not whether YOU have 50 NOS bikes and think you are better than anyone else...so,in short,if you want to teach someone,or make a comment, please consider how YOU would feel if that post you JUST wrote was directed at yourself........would it upset you,or would you actually be happy to read it???.....if it would upset you, then why would you post it??...everybody here are Real People, with Real feelings...please remember this when you post...thats all i have to say.....from a regular guy.......yours,Rob

I am very soory about the HIGH price on the SKYWAY MAG. I dont know what is is worth. Belive me I am not trying to rip someone off. I dont care if someone buys the wheel for 15 bucks shipped! I really have no idea of what it really is worth. So please forgive me for that post. I apologize.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   SKYWAY FRONT MAG posted by jcd on 2/9/2001 at 9:15:01 PM
You don't have to apologize for anything. This hobby is about supply and demand. Don't ever let someone dictate what you feel something is worth. There's no price guide for this hobby. The current supply is limited and when the well is dry, it's dry! A set of used graphite's recently sold on e-bay for $460. I don't think $40 for a front mag is unreasonable. If people can't understand that then they should get out of BMX and start collecting beanie babies.

Hell I do more then a basic tune-up for less money! But anyway thank you for your reply.

I paid for my Sport too, $250 still in the box. Ebay is too high. Hold out they come up, this was the second one offered to me in 6 months in the box. These bikes aren't that old or hard to find. Just ask. Brett

I found a used 87 Master, w/standard Haro bars, stem, gyro, cranks, unidirectional chainwheel and 990's for 70 bucks. Not bad. Anyone have any leads on a sticker pack for 87-88's? I found one for an FSX, just so I would have a template for some reproductions. I thought about scanning them in, and then using Photoshop to clean them up. The only thing it that I would have to have a few packs made because of set up costs a printshop to make it worth while.

i have a oldschool blue /gray stickerset...it is a haro group one set...complete-new/nos?....can you use it??.just lmk,and i will scan them for you....cheers,Rob

RE:stickerset posted by Stickers on 2/11/2001 at 7:23:05 PM
Thanks for the offer- but I think the pack you have is off of the first generation (1986) Haro BMX bikes.
To think I had an 88 black on black Sport and in '93 sandblasted it and had it sprayed an olive green epoxy! It still looks killer though... I can go through old Freestylins to get the specs on the stickerpacks (fonts and layouts for the Sport and Master). I have a color sample of the mint green Haro had, but not the deep aqua, or the red. Oh well...
Any leads on a pair of standard (not 14mm) chrome 48's? Anyone?

RE:RE:stickerset posted by Rob on 2/13/2001 at 7:28:35 AM
yes,i am kind of confused as to what these Haro stickers actually go on....as they say group one,but look old enough to be what you said.....of course, when i ordered them, they were supposed to be Master stickersets....go figure!.....mail gets here,and??...dont know what they are "factory" for.....

RE:RE:stickerset posted by Rob on 2/13/2001 at 3:34:39 PM
hey Mike, the stickerset is actually a aqua color...dont know if helps you,but they are aqua and greyish stripes, with white group one letters....just lmk...thanx again,Rob

And who says Romero is the only one who had a bad buying experience? To make the bike lighter Michael, throw it in the garbage can, and hope the garbage man takes lightens your garbage can by taking the bike. Sorry about your bad luck.

I do have a few bikes for sale though. I have a Dyno vfr A Diamond back Showtime Freestyle. A DYNO AIR. and a striped GT freestyle frame. They are ALL for sale at very reasonable prices. Unfortunately you've had to deal with the ugly side of BMX bikes. People that take advantage of others that are not as knowledgeable on bikes as others. If you had the BMX knowledge that Rob, The Fabricator!!, Mike, myself or any of the other regulars on this site had, you would've spent that $350.00 on a bike that would've gave all you could've gotten for your money like the DK Six Pack for only $25.00 more. Start reading RIDE or BMX Plus! magazine to get up to date on whats hot & whats not in the world of BMX bikes. Stay away from brands such as Huffy, Columbia, Royce Union, Pacific, Fishbone, Raleigh, & Free Agent. Those bikes are all trash. Brands you wanna check out: Haro, DK, S&M, GT Bmx, Standard, Hoffman, K2, Bully, & possibly Speacialized. Mongoose & Redline made top of the line bikes up until about 1995 but the bikes they're makin nowadays are really of poor quality & design. It's because they're best riders have all either retired or went to other companies & a bunch of old geezers are designing & building the bikes now. Now the Redline C-Note flatland bike is an A-1 bike but thats it. Also 4lbs is about as light as your gonna get on any Bmx bike. Todays stronger street frames weigh around 6.5 to 7lbs by themselves. Now if you buy a racing frame thats different but the bike will still weigh about 10lbs complete. Here's how I got over when I was young, my first bike when I was only 7 years old was a Huffy Pro Thunder. That thing weighed about 25lbs so after riding that tank for a few years, by the time I got my first Pro Bmx bike, which was a chrome GT Bmx race bike that only weighed about 8lbs, & even though I was a little guy, I flew on that thing. It was kinda scary riding it at first cause I used to get sooo much more air than I did on the tank. I know a guy that was selling his K2 DMC for $200.00. If you want, I'll see if he still has it. You can look on K2bikes.com to see what it looks like.

Romero, you have been on this board for about a month, and you are already an expert on everything. If you are an expert, why did you bid a beat up Haro Sport up to $380.00 on e-Bay? Almost everytime you post here, you get thrown under the bus by someone. Actually, it seems you know a little bit about everything and a lot about nothing. In case you still don't understand, this is an Old School BMX discussion board. You claim to be knowledgeable about new bikes. Who cares about new bikes? Where was your DK made chief? Your DK is strong, I'm sure, but it doesn't have the simple and beautiful characteristics of an old school bike. Your DK looks like all of the other new bikes today. They are heavy, and most are made in Taiwan. Sorry to hear that you blew a lot of money on a new DK. What a joke!

RE:AGE / VALUE:   the elusive Team Murray!! posted by Romero on 2/9/2001 at 2:46:22 AM
I used to have that set of Donruss cards the Fabricators talkin about so I knew he was speaking the truth on the Team Murray with the Z-Rims. My favorite cards in the set were the one with the two Redline BMX bikes by themselves with a white background & the one with the Hutch BMX'er doin the table top jump. Harry Leary was on a few of those cards as well as one card with a Hyper BMX rider on it. I think there was even a marroon colored Diamond Back Turbo featured on one of the cards. The cards had white borders with red & blue stripes as well. That Murray bike with the Z's was probably the peak of that company's engineering. After reading what you wrote Rob, I started looking through a few of my old Bmx Plus mags & I gotta tell ya man, it hurt. I was wishing I was still in that time frame. Wondering what ever happened to guys like Tommy Brackens & Dizz Hicks. Not all riders can be like DMC & Matt Hoffman I suppose? Does anyone realize that those two guys along with Dave Mirra are probably the top three riders of today & all three at one point or another worked for Bob Haro although Hoffmans stint at Haro was VERY short lived.

I believe trickstars were made from 1984-1987 and ones that have a little baseball symbol by the serial number are not US made and most likely made after 1985. I dont know about Quadangles, but believe they were made from 1978-1997 in steel form.

You know what man, every now & then on ebay someone will have a rusty old junk bike for sale with the only real thing of value being one of the wheels. One of the wheels will be junk but the other will be a near mint mag or rim & the guy will want like $50.00 for the bike as a whole & refuse to just sell you the wheel by itself. There's always a good selection of Skyway parts on there, juss keep checkin back.
