If you check out my site, here is a link: RL20-II
I have a fully restored 1985 RL20-II with a complete parts list, which is very close to Redline's original complete bike specs.

As far as what is the most desired color, I personally think Hazard Yellow would be the most desirable. It was done in 1985 only, then it was replaced by red in 1986. But a lot of people have made me offers for my Turquoise RL20-II, saying that the color was fairly rare. So it really depends on who you talk to.

As for years of production, RL20-II's were produced from 1985 to 1989 (the 89's were basically left over 88's, not a true new model year). The 85's - 87's are fairly similar, they differences are pretty subtle. In 85 the colors were Hazard Yellow, White, Turquoise, Radberry all with a chrome tail/chrome forks and all Chrome. In 86 Yellow was replaced with red, the bottom brackets were painted black (but there are some 86's were not done), the stickers had dot fades with paint splats (85's they did not have the paint splats), and the seat tube stickers and chain stay stickers had dot fades which blended into the black bottom brackets. In 87 the fork pegs were move down the fork legs, a new black color was added that faded into a chrome bottom bracket, the cable guide at the head tube was removed, and the rear platform braces were changed. In 88 990 mounts were added, the colors were now Black, Red, Blue, Kiwi, and Mango all of which faded into a gray rear end instead of chrome and chrome the forks. The 89's were basically 88 left-overs.

As for decals, eBay is probably your best bet, 86 400C sets seem to pop up all the time. The sets with red Redline logo's were used for chrome and white frames. Sets with white logo's were used for the colored frames, for 85-86's the color of the fork stickers usually told you what color the kit was for. For an example a Turquoise bike would have turquoise fork stickers. Good luck, I hope this helps!

thanks for the info on the bike, and i love the pics on your site, excellent parts lists!! my rl 20-2 does NOT have the 3pc, forklifter neck, or mags. it does have an MX 995 freestyle neck and a joyteck sealed front hub with an acs rear cassette hub, both laced to matching black rims with white spokes, (to mach the bike). i do believe this is original. the brakes are peragrine 111`s and the levers are tech-77`s, all matching white of course. the whole bike is white, did i forget to mention that? it also has the acs rotor. the only thing i think thats not original on this thing are the pedals (crappy plastic ones) and the seatpost (elf straight, chrome), everything else is as sold when new (as far as i can tell). got it for a steal too!!
anyways...thanks for the help....
do you know any more about the GJS Ceppie Mays bike?

RE:AGE / VALUE:   RL 20-2 Pro-Styler posted by Sinister Bikes on 1/10/2002 at 9:45:56 PM
No problem, I can't wait for the Osborn Pro to show up, I've been looking for one for quite some time now, so it was the least I could do.

As for the GJS, I don't have much info on them, I knew a guy that had one, it was funky looking. His was chrome and just like the one on my site, had tons of weird tubes. A very unique bike.
