Hi everyone. I have been doing a small restoration project, a PUCH Rugby Sports that I got for $20. I have been posting pictures and updates in the vintage forum on bikeforums. It seems that this model was mostly available in Europe, and not seen here much. Consequently, no one knows anything about it. I am looking to know the age and more details of this beautiful machine, so hopefully someone can read the serial number! It is 6442226. Here is the thread on bikeforums so you can check out the progress/pictures. I am also looking for the missing piece on the chaincase, so if you can help out let me know. I think one from a Raleigh Sports will fit right up, and I think I may of found one, but anyhow....
Thank you for the help, have a nice day :)
I have a Steyr Sport Racer made in Austria. I think it is the same factory that made PUCH. Very high quality. I would rate it better than a Raleigh. Does yours have a Steyr hub?
No Steyr hub that I can tell, however, I doubt that the wheels are original. It has a Shimano 3-speed hub, and while they have been around since the 60's, I really think it used to have a Sturmey Archer setup. It does have 26" rims, which would suggest it is older than 1981 since it was outfitted with 27" that year I am sure.
Just rescued a pair of mid 1960s Dunelts with Wrights saddles. That is a new one to me. The man's might be salvageable, the nose of the woman's is broken. Also I need
a hockey stick chain guard for the man's

I purchased it used in 1977.
Should I sell it in my garage sale?
Hello, My father passed away a couple of months ago and we have been cleaning out the house and barn. We ran across a bike that I remember was purchased used by my step-mother. this bike has been in the barn at least since about 1970. The BSA emblems are clear in several locations of the bike. The emblem on the front fork appears to be riveted on. It is black boys bike. It has white at the end of the back fender, and appears to have a gold tip on the end of the front fender. Are there any recommendations for researching the accurate age and value of this bike? Thanks forany help
BSA was bought out by TI Raleigh around 1960 the bicycles made before this are worth more. Look for the Nottingham name on the headbadge. Nottingham was the Raleigh factory. The best way is to look at the back fender to frame attachment Raleigh always was directly behind the axle not on top. The exception is 28 x 1 1/2 wheeled bicycles. Ed
