WANTED:   Rear Fender for Schwinn Pixie posted by: Rick on 8/8/2000 at 3:00:19 AM
I need a chrome rear fender for a Schwinn Pixie. The fender has to be a full fender (not a Krate type fender). If you have one that you would like to sell please e-mail me with a price and the condition the fender is in. I might also be interested in buying another Pixie if the price is right.

Do you need it for the unisex pixie?
or the regular pixie?

MISC:   JC Higgins & Black Phantom value posted by: Don gaber on 8/7/2000 at 8:24:47 AM
I have a JC Higgins Flightliner, Chrome w/red tank & luggage rack, spring fork, all original with working horn & light in tank & wonder about what it's worth. It's in very good condition. Also a Schwinn Black Phantom, repainted years ago, fair condition, mostly there. No Tank or fender light, lock missing on fork. It also has a Two speed Bendix rear hub with cable shift.

RE:MISC:   JC Higgins & Black Phantom value posted by bob on 8/8/2000 at 2:41:22 PM
Flightliners in nice shape seem to sell around 150-250 range. The Phantom is missing a few hundred $$ in parts and needs paint. Hard to place a value on it without seeing it.

MISC:   Pair of Schwinn Colleigates posted by: Dick Collentine on 8/7/2000 at 12:33:00 AM
Wondering if the 70's 5 speed Schwinn Collegiates(spelling?) have any value other than simple nostalgia. I spotted a pair at a garage sale recently, both in decent shape, for $25 each. I bought one for my high school girlfriend in the mid 70's, and I just remembered that it was a solid, fun, all around great bike. The seller had a men's and ladies model for sale.
Any response would be appreciated. Thanx, Dick.

RE:MISC:   Pair of Schwinn Colleigates posted by Kevin C. on 8/7/2000 at 4:41:26 AM
They are nice bikes, but 1970s Collegiates usually bring less than $25 each here in the Midwest. Garden-variety Varsities fetch even less.

Check out E-bay, sites like this one, pass the word, go to bike swap meets, have folks look for you, pass the word and do not ever give up. What color is this bike? I assume it was a ladies frame?

It was a men's frame. I'm pretty sure it was 26". It was black, sleek and a beauty! I never had a drivers liscense, went everywhere on that bike. I've had a few responses already. I'm ecstatic!

you had one of many various brands of what is generally known as the three speed racer- ROBIN HOOD, PHILLIPS,DENULT,
HERCULES,among others were basically the same, only the name
was changed to suit the individual assemblers. it's like orange juice,it's all basically orange juice coming from a few different places blended and packaged to suit hundreds
of different suppliers.
