I just recently purchase a bicycle via ebay. It was discribed as a 70's vintage raleigh "space rider". It's for decorative purposes, but I'd like to know more about this bike. Was the $5.51 I paid for it a good deal? It looks like the condition is very clean with original paint, fenders, and saddle. It's also a single speed with coaster brakes??

I have a Ross Apollo 3 Speed bike that is in perfect condition, everything works and there is only one little flaw, the seat has a hole in the side of it, it is only the size of ball point pen tip and is right by the sissy bar, other than that this bike is at 110% even the chrome is in perfect shape, this bike is unrestored and perfect in every way! This is the perfect addition to any muscelbike collection, i am asking $700.00 but i am open to offers.
if you are interested email me at the above address, thank you.

Colson bikes. Buy the book "Evolution of the Bicycle" volume two. There are a few good examples of Evan-Colson bikes, not to mention all of the other really cool bike from way back. If nothing else it makes for a great coffee table book. Good-luck.

Here's a simple question for you pros...what is the best oil to put into rear hubs (through the little lid that snaps shut)??? I was gonna put in some 50wt. How much goes in?..............thanks in advance......Bob

RE:MISC:   rear hubs posted by sam on 7/27/2001 at 3:26:45 PM
Use sewing machine oil.Comes in a small squeze bottle. Some brands have a small tube for hard to reach spots--like rear hub oil holes.Buy it where they repair sewing machines.About $2 a bottle.Use only a few drops each mo.Rear hubs should be cleaned and greesed, the oil is added each mo.to keep it lubed(not dryed out)---sam

FOR SALE:   1978 Raleigh Super Grand Prix posted by: gary on 7/27/2001 at 12:32:32 PM

1978 Raleigh Super Grand Prix road bike. Very good condition, only a couple scratches, all but one frame decal is perfect, color is a champaign metallic and black. Brooks Professional saddle, Suntour V-Lux deraullier, Weinmann 610 brakes, Normandy wheel hubs, alloy crankset, 23.5" frame. A very clean bike. Made in England. Seriel #: WE8000209

It has a very cool 1977 Tour de France Team Winner decal.

The only mechanical problem is a rear wheel that is out of true and has a flatspot. I recently completely cleaned it, lubed the cables, etc.
