MISC:   Value of Schwinn bike posted by: Tim on 8/28/2001 at 7:45:13 PM
Wondering what is value of Schwinn Suburban Serial # begins with CK appears to be original paint and accessories.

RE:MISC:   Value of Schwinn bike posted by Cal on 8/29/2001 at 5:40:17 AM
According to the serial number charts it is a 1974.

Value is really tough to figure out without a lot of information and pictures, too.
Is it a men's or lady's bike (men's go for more). Is it all original? What accessories? How is the paint? Rust? Is it in running condition?

I think all Suburbans were 10 speeds and assuming it is an average condition men's model I'd guess it's worth around $50

Thanks for the reply Cal.
The bike is a mens 10 speed all original except tires, has fenders still on it, only slight surface rust on some chrome parts, running condition, with a schwinn headlamp and tail light, tailight assembly is damaged broken lens

MISC:   Western Flyer posted by: Chris on 8/26/2001 at 3:13:20 PM
I found a Western Flyer, women's, red and white, one speed balloon tire bike at a junk shop. It's number is B00275. Tire size is 26x2.125 front and rear. It looks unused and I'm wondering if it's vintage or a replica. How do I tell? Also, what is it worth? Thanks. Chris

the repops lack the finish and quality of the originals by a ton. the canti tubes are just pinched off, chrome is poor. chaingaurd is thinner then a tin can. should be covered with japanese parts as well.

I was told and I think it was here on this forum that a decal on one of the tubes will say orginal on the repop. Don't know if this is correct.
