Don't know why the big ticket, or what kind of antics are going on there... but SOMETHING is fishy. Look at the Bid History of the auction & Feedbacks of the people involved in it, helz belz the majority aren't even registered users anymore. SCARY!

MISC:   mattel varoom posted by: carlos on 3/4/2003 at 7:57:16 PM
I'am not a regular collector and I dont want to insult anyone, but I have this mattel varoom bike (early 60's) from my childhood and would like to restore it for my grandson, is there anybody that knows of a place I can get more information about it or to get parts. PLEASE

RE:MISC:   mattel varoom posted by Stacey on 3/6/2003 at 3:34:49 PM
Carlos, if you are going to restore this DON'T give it to your grandson! The motors alone are selling on eBay for hundreds of dollars. I can't remember the last time I saw a clean example of a complete bike there.

If you want him to ride something cool, get him a Sting-Ray... that way if he runs it into the ground you're not out that much and parts are plentyful. But cripes a VAROOM Bike! I only wish I still had mine, but dad left it behind when we moved... it had a flat tire. The bastid!

I have a Matel varoom that was given to me around 1968. I have tried to find out some information on it so that I can have it restored, however, this is not a bicycle but is a pre-"hot wheels" type of toy. It has 3 wheels, metallic blue metal with a throttle for steering. Is this the same type of bicycle that you have?

Hello All,
I have come across what I consider a great find but do not know it's value or worth.
I need some help on this one guys; #174564X on the crank housing along with "D.P.Harris Mfg. Co., New York." It's black with with white trim; chrome wheels; missing headlight; two flat tires; kick stand (original stand gone).
If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it!
I have been given the title of executor of this bike from the original owner who got it as a child in 1942.
Thanks for everyones help and consideration!
