WANTED:   Who sells Taiwan-made parallelogram (ala Tamer Tricky Dick) shock seatposts? posted by: christian jones on 4/10/2003 at 6:46:05 AM
Who sells Taiwan-made parallelogram (ala Tamer Tricky Dick) shock seatposts?

Overheard a discussion on Thudbusters and the Tricky Dick. Buzz was that there were Taiwan-made and China-manufacturered shockposts that were said to be more effective than Tamer's that were being imported. Anybody know the make/model, and who sells 'em? Prices?

Also heard allegations of slow shipments from Tamer - some unhappy Tamer consumers. Thudbuster's shock absorbing plastic (?) springs were allegedly popping out also.

Also, a Seattle-area machine shop is gearing up to make a more heavy-duty "Tricky Dick" style shockpost. Isn't Tamer's design protected by patents?

FOR SALE:   Huffy Head Tube Badge posted by: John on 4/10/2003 at 12:34:52 AM
Looking for a head tube badge for an early 50's Huffy Balloon Tire bike. Yeah I know it's a Huffy but it is old and they weren't that bad back then. Anyway the bike is in nice shape and would make a great vintage cruiser. From looking at the outline in the paint, the badge was quite big but I don't have any info on exactly what it looked like. Anybody got one of this valuable(hah!) badges? John

Sorry, but you've added an extra zero(s?) on the prices. The Fiesta is at the bottom of the Schwinn line and not really worth much, even in mint condition. Someone has misled you. Sorry!

MISC:   Vagabond posted by: dave on 4/6/2003 at 3:47:29 PM
Looking for any information on a recently aquired bicycle. From all the markings and badging that i could locate on the bike, it has a only decal on both sides with the word Vagabond. Did searches on the web, but have yet to locate anything. The most unique feature about the bike is that it brakes apart/collapses and has 16" wheels. Plus it uses a "Bendix" braking system. Any info is appreciated
