MISC:   Schwinn Collegiate posted by: Kanda on 4/14/2003 at 12:14:13 AM
I recenly bought an old Collegiate at the flea market. I was looking for the serial number and can't seem to find what this bike is worth. I found a couple on this site but mine don't have fenders and seems to have a hand pump that goes on the bike. I'm sure it is almost original down to the paint and the original tires. Where can I find what this bike is worth? It is a womans bike, 5 speed and the color is ornage. The serial number is HK52295. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Thanks Kanda

HK is August 1964 Check it out here, http://www.angelfire.com/rant/allday101/SchwinnCodes1.html

Sorry to inform you, but a 74 Colegiate is almost a dime a dozen. They were mass produced rght along with the Varsity. A nice clean one could bring $15 to $25 most of the time.
Sometimes you can find someone who will pay more for them, but it`s usually a boys frame to be used for cummuting.

Oops, chubby fingers. Of course that`s August of 74 yes, yes, definately 1974 yeah.

WANTED:   info about Schwinn Lil Tiger posted by: David on 4/10/2003 at 10:09:08 PM
I found a green Lil Tiger at a thrift store for $8. It seemed like it might be collectable, so I bought it. It's in pretty bad shape with numerous chips/scratches, a little rust, missing screws that hold the frame together and a destroyed seat. Does anyone have any idea of what the value of this bike might be? By the way, I'll be selling it on eBay some time in the next couple weeks.

RE:WANTED:   info about Schwinn Lil Tiger posted by JimW. on 4/10/2003 at 11:20:52 PM
Putting it up on eBay is an excellent way of finding out what its value is. Since it's kind of ratty, you'll at least know what people think a ratty one is worth. I'm sure it'll bring more than $8, but I wouldn't count on sending your kid to college on the profits.
