I am selling a Three-speed bicycle 21" step-thru frame made in England by BSA (Birmingham Small Arms). B.S.A. was an important independent manufacturer until the bicycle division was sold to Raleigh in 1957. The bicycle sports a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer hub. Based on markings on this bicycle, I would estimate it to be built around 1952, although I am not positive. The bike has front and rear fenders as well as a chain guard. Tires are 26" x 1 3/8" and have markings of 37-590 and 55lbs/in2 - 3.8 ATM (Atmosphere)along with the word coaster. Please do not confuse that to mean coaster brake as this bicycle has handbrakes. For a bicycle this old, its in pretty good condition with a few minor rust spots on the fenders, but otherwise looks great. With a proper tune-up, this bicycle would make be great for commuting or touring. These English 3-speed bikes are becoming harder to find and recent prices on BSA bicycles seen on the OldRoads website have fetched well over $300. The bicycle also has a leather Brooks spring saddle as well as a leather tool bag which alone are in high demand. See NYC Craigslist for pictures. Local pick-up only. by: 208.217.164.134 |

Building a 24" wheel around a sturmey archer AW from 1963 for a trike. I can't find a 40 hole rim and neither can the local bike shop. Can anyone tell me where to find one or sell me one from the back of your garage? Thanks, Ryan. by: 24.176.255.210 |
p.s. I'll take a whole wheel hub and all if its 24" 40h. by: 24.176.255.210 |

I have some bicycles i need to get rid of. On is a mens schwinn varsity brownish red, pretty nice shape new tire and tubes. The handlebars are the one's that wrap around so your fists are perpendicular to your body. The whole bike appears to be original. The second is identical with 3 piece cranks. It's a 5 speed made by concorde, called a concorde deluxe. Made in japan. I need to get rid of them as i am moving. THe bikes need cleaned, and the rims could be trued, as the schwinnn appears to be early 70's late 60's, and the concorde has to be early 70's I would assume. The bikes look very similar for refrence purposes. My phone is 801-289-6537 if anyone is interested. Thanx by: 24.154.205.87 |
can you show me a picture of the two bikes? thanks by: 69.133.12.164 |
