FOR SALE:   1956 Columbia Rambler for sale posted by: Dane on 10/5/2008 at 12:43:38 PM
This bike is in good condition though over the years the bell has been misplaced. I am actually posting this for my grandmother who is moving and in need of money so a decent offer will take the bike. Pictures upon request at this time, I will try and post some on the site ASAP.

I have a couple of Raleighs with gearcases, both tall frame 26" wheel models. The first is a Sports Tourist, 1956, black (has been repainted but not too ugly), rod brakes, SW 3-speed hub, saddlebag, pump, leather Brooks B17 saddle (should be a B66 or B72). It rides fine but could use some maintenance for daily use or restoration for show. Price is $225. The other is a 1956 also, by coincidence, but a much fancier machine. It's a Superbe, Raleigh green of course, 4-speed hub with Dyno built in, correct green headlight and Dyno taillamp, DBU rechargeable battery unit, original green saddlebag with Sir Walter emblem, rod brakes, rare Brooks B83 saddle, rare stainless steel rims, English Michelin tires with Woods valves. It rides great, all four gears work, the lights work, even the original Lucas bell works. The paint is pretty decent, chrome is fair to good, not a show bike by any means but it's decent, original, and rare. It is also in a container which will arrive here from England around the end of the month, so I don't have any decent pics yet. Price is a cool $395, much of which is my shipping cost. The black one is at my house.
