I have what I believe is a 1969 Pea picker, serial no. KE12125 located on the rear droupout. The chain gaurd is missing that identifies it as the Pea Picker - which I'm having a HARD time finding. Is it safe to assume this IS a Krate Pea Picker or was there a number of other models with similar equipment? I have heard that serial no. placement is key to a models identification ? What do you think ? Please let me know. Thanks, Dave |
ya thats a 69 krate i looked it up in my book :-) Corey |
does anyone know the frame specs for krate or stingrays period, i have a stingray frame and want to make it a krate but am unsure what the bike was maybe a krate or deluxe who nows, is there a way of telling |
Hello I've just got a Raleigh and don't know the model. It has 26x2 white walls curved seatstays running forward to the headstock and a hub date of 1961. I got at the weekend at the raleigh chopper event here in the UK, but I don't think it's a home market bike |
Billing was a blast eh? Did you get it from TallMartin? Send me a picture. Rob |
Hi is it gold with red mudguards? i think I was offered one for sale once, if it was the one on tall martins stand / pile. drop me an email, and I'll send you some pics can't remember it's name though - -give me a minute... |
yep, knew it was in there some where. Is it a Raleigh chicco? |

sold!!!!! |
That was too cheap a price to let it go for. |
i know it's that i'm getting sick at looking at the crap. and i want to unload the junk. besides it's not worth much to me anyway. |
Good for you james, it's nice to see people let stuff go for less then the crazy prices everyone gets, and it's nice to make a buyers day...I know I like good deals when I find them! |
I would have sold it for top dollar and let 34 people come to look at it and waited it out until my price was paid. We disagree on this one. A grey Ghost is simply aweful to track down and find and when I do, sockko! They can pay top dollar or let it sit. |
16" mini mountie by Raleigh frame;forks;chain gaurd;fenders;top bar for boys no wheels |
hi everyone!!!!!!! i am needing some feedback on a decision i need to make, I havee two schwinn atom front drum hubs, 1 set of spokes, and 2 16 inch s-7 rims and a three and five speed schwinn shifter i wanted to trade these things for an orange fastback seat, would i be better off putting a rim together and purchasing a schwinn tire to fit and selling the 16 inch wheel alone and maybe find an orange fastback seat for my fastback, i dont know the worth of the hubs and the three speed shifter ( the shifter has a ribbed bent style arm and ribbed facia cap with decent decals and little peppering) when were the three speed shifters of this type made and for whitch bikes were they for, just a little info would help me out with my future transaction although the gentleman does not want to trade the seat but instead he has a set of general fastback w/w tires to fit the fastbacks and a nos set of fastback fenders so this is actually what would be traded for my parts someone help me make a decision please, signed totally confused |
Have '64 Sting Ray, it has "New Departure" rims and hubs on it. Were these stock items for schwinn sting rays of this period? Please e-mail directly ekim530@directcon.net, thanks. |
I've recently come across a Schwinn Stingray body, etc. and will be tricking it out this summer. On the list of desired items is a new banana seat and matching headrest. Also on the list: vintage tank (will reform to fit), classy rear reflector, more to come as the summer inspires me to further craziness. |
i just resently needed a tank for my fathers x-53 western flyer and after searching for months with no luck, i was able to make a duplicate repop from carving a block of styrofoam and then make a mold with fiber galss, u must use some sort of releasing agent on the foam, just a thought for ya if determained enough u could have the correct tank although a repop... |
I found a bunch of old bikes at a friends house. Most of them old Schwinn's. One little bike stood out. It's a mini scrambler serial #HL559969. Mostly original just a little weathered. Someone told me that the mini's are pretty rare. Is this true? Also in the pile was a 60's stingray fastback and a couple of heavy duty cruiser bikes. Anyone interested? I also acquired A mini scrambler at a yard sale a couple of days ago serial # KN522898 fenders are flat black, also handlbars with a cross brace. Theres hardly any crome on the thing...I know nothing about them other then it looks really cool, definetly mini all the way. Please Email me with any info.I couldnt find anthing on the web....thanks CARL GATES |
Hello, I was just given a bicycle called a Torrot t.t., I have not been able to find much info on it yet on the internet. The stickers on it say it is made in madrid spain. The bottom tube on the frame is large at least 1 1/2 inches across, it has coil springs on the front forks but they are only for looks. It has a real thick seat that says Torrot t.t. on it and a adjustable sisy bar on the back. If anyone has any info about this bike or where I can find out more please let me know. Thank you in advance John |
I have a 71 manta ray,color is silver mist.I this rare? what's it worth?Also have 71 gray ghost,Thinking of selling both,whats a fair price? |
Hey Joe, either this is a joke or you're not aware that these are both very rare models. If this is the real deal- I'm interested in both. |
Wanted 20x16 muscle bikes except Krates . Also looking for original Murray Firecat with Flamed seat, or Kingkat. Thanks John |

Hi, As a television producer for a local cable channel, I'm putting together a "tribute" to the Schwinn Stingray and am trying to track down some classic footage of the bike (actually shot in the 60's or 70's). Does anyone have any or know where I might be able to find some? There is a bit of a time squeeze and I'd need to get my hands on it by Monday, June 9. ANY help is GREATLY appreciated! -drey |
