I'm thinking this mystery Chopper could be a mutant hybrid Canadian Raleigh Chopper made in England for the poor Canadians.

RE:AGE / VALUE:    Don't know what this is! posted by mike on 5/29/2003 at 12:55:49 AM
The Canadian rebadged Raleigh Chopper was called the Fast Back
100, and was sold by Eaton's of catalogue and department store
fame as part of their Glider bicycle line. No coil springs on
the sissybar and Mark I frames only with orange paint.

RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:    Don't know what this is! posted by Chris on 5/30/2003 at 6:16:06 PM
There is no cissy bar at all on this.

RE:AGE / VALUE:    Don't know what this is! posted by kev on 6/2/2003 at 3:57:10 PM
They also made a girls Eatons fastback, called a fastback princess.
I've got one in the post from canada at the moment, and it's a gorgeous purple!
If anybody else has any info, pics or original sales material for these bikes, please let me know.
ps - There's also a '69 orange boys fastback on it's way as well!!

Mystery Mutant Raleigh Chopper bike pictures are in!
The pictures I took are back and scanned sheets are ready. Please e- mail me your postal address so you can see what it is that I have found.
I am trying to get this set of pictures posted at the Chopper web sites so folks can see this bike. I need post addresses from interested Chopper members.
This is unlike any other Raleigh Chopper type bicycle I have seen anyplace. So this will be a first.
I have never seen this beast before in all my hunting and collecting and trading and looking.
Can somebody out there let me know what it is that I have?
I think the Chopper folks will find it interesting.
please e- mail.

AGE / VALUE:   Fastback or Manta?? posted by: Scott on 5/28/2003 at 11:34:32 AM
Ive had this old bike for years, has a April 74 datecode, sky blue under repaint, single-coaster, 24" on back, 20"on front, it rides fone but needs work,of course. I have some pics I will send someone who can tell me what this dang thing is and if its worth fixing up!

RE:AGE / VALUE:   Fastback or Manta?? posted by Rich on 6/2/2003 at 5:11:58 PM
It certainly wouldn't be a Manta Ray because they were 24" front and back and were made in '71 and '72 only. I've seen Murray Eliminators with the 20" x 24" wheel combo. Hope this helps.

RE:AGE / VALUE: Fastback or Manta?? posted by Shannon Reynolds on 6/4/2003 at 8:10:03 PM
If the serial number reads out to an actual date then it's definatly not an Eliminator. Murray codes are so far indecipherable.

Are 3sp Barracudas worth anything? Paint is rough, fenders have some dents, but it looks complete and is rideable. Muscle bikes aren't my thing but I got this with some other rides and would apprciate some info. Thanks. John

A Ross Barracuda (girl's frame) just sold here for $250. 3-speed - fair condition.

RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   Barracuda posted by Russell on 5/30/2003 at 1:16:20 PM
A girls frame? The only girls frames I would consider spending that kind of money on are Raleigh Chopper, Iverson Dragstripper, and a Schwinn Slik Chik.

RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   Slick Chic posted by Chris on 6/2/2003 at 5:41:08 PM
All this talk about Schwinn Slick Chick's!
I don't think the bike will ever sell for more than the $15.00 I'll put into it and I'll be married to the darned thing forever but I am resolved to take it all to the bare walls and that will be part of the deal.
I have no feelings for this model and it's was a waste of time and material.

RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   Slick Chic posted by Chris on 6/3/2003 at 4:47:28 PM
The Schwinn Slick Chic was not a bike kissed with magic charm like the other Schwinn's were.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE: Slick Chic posted by Kerri on 6/4/2003 at 2:34:24 PM
You know, that is really amazing. You don't like it just because it is a girl's bike. My best memories as a child are riding around on my GIRL'S Sting-Ray because I am a girl. Comments like that are unnecessary because many of the boys Sting-Rays have little value to ME because I am not a boy. If you saw both my Slik Chik and Fair Lady, you wouldn't have one negative thing to say about them because they are completely orginal and need absolutely nothing. So really, don't bash what many people love. They both have A LOT of value to me.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE: Slik Chik posted by Kerri on 6/4/2003 at 2:40:00 PM
One more thing, I will be building a website dedicated to the girl's Sting-Rays in the near future for people to enjoy. I receive about 2 to 3 e-mails per week asking me questions about them. Chris, you might want to stay away from the site because it might not be "kissed with magic charm".
