I have a Huffy Rail with the flaming stack style chainguard that is missing the rear exhaust pipe part that mounts back by the sissy bar. Any thoughts on where I could find one? Thanks. by: 66.243.155.126 |
I think some of those chainguards came that way on later models without the tip I think for girl bikes. You'll just have to buy the one with the tip. by: 24.163.52.11 |

I recently got a Schwinn Orange County Chopper at Walmart for $81. 24 X 2.10 front tire 20 X 4.25 rear.Looks like a true mini chopper. But really not big enough for me and I'm only a 30 inch inseam. But I bought it to possibly turn over. Unfortunately it may be a tough sell but may help to increase traffic flow.I have a feeling yours is a more normal size. by: 24.58.64.136 |

I have an early copper stingray deluxe - I am guessing it is 65 or 66 based on options etc - the serial number is strange on this one though - I tried to look it up from both my references here and old roads serial number charts - the serial number on the rear dropout of my bike is A 23144 - it is very clear but there is only one letter (A) then a space followed by only 5 digits (23144). Anyone out there run into this before? Anyone know the correct date for this #? Any info is appreciated - thanks by: 71.226.224.26 |
according to the lists i have only 5 digits makes it a 1953 frame. there should be no space between the letter and number, if so, your missing a digit there, and probably cuts the value of your bike a ton. if the number is A231xx its missing the last number, thats a 1962 frame. by: 68.188.222.250 |
There were no Stingrays made until 1963; Deluxe models span from 1964 to 1974, so according to the coppertone hue as well as your serial # (which is missing the second letter standing for the year), your Stingray Deluxe falls between the 1965-1968 time span. Another factor to keep in mind: In 1965, Schwinn revamped their serial # method by using the double-letter/five digit system meaning your frame was possibly made in January of '65 when the serial # revamp was brand new from the old one-letter/six-digit system which would be the result of the missing second letter. by: 199.179.239.103 |
that frame however is quite old, canti framed youth bikes go way back, its the stingray seat, etc, which changed its looks by: 68.188.222.250 |
