I JUST GOT A NIRVE SINGLE SPEED CHOPPER BIKE. I LOOKED AT ALL THE NIRVE BIKES I COULD FIND ON THE NET, YET I CANNOT FIND THE ONE I BOUGHT.ALL THE CHOPPERS (NIRVES) I HAVE SEEN HAVE A 3 X 24 INCH REAR TIRE. MINE HAS A STANDARD 2.1.25 REAR. COULD THIS BE A FAKE ? I STILL THINK THE BIKE IS AWESOME, I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE DEAL. I PAID $200., AND WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT KIND OF DEAL I GOT .ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. by: 71.243.100.48 |
I put a custom bike together for my son. I installed a shimano 3 speed hub on a modern freestyle frame. The trick to make the cable routing to work is using the linear v brake stud as a mount for the shift cable. I used a 6mm x 1.00 x 50mm bolt and a homemade alloy L shaped bracket with 2 holes drilled and use a brake cable adjuster to guide and mount it to the alloy bracket. 3 speeds are a big modification to a 1 speed 20 inch wheeled bicycle. The cool factor is knowing that nobody has one like yours. Ed by: 76.50.89.194 |

I am looking for information on a bicycle I found at a thrift store. Unfortunately, I am fairly inept at operating computers, so a picture is out of the question. The bicycle is a 20" musclebike, it is maroon, has a fake gas tank bearing a sticker that reads "Open Road" with some pinstriping around it. It also has a banana seat, ape hangers, chromed chain guard,a rear fender, a fork with springs and a ridiculous amt. of rake, a rear slick, and a chrome headlight. There is evidence of a head tube badge, mostly just sticker residue. The rear hub and coaster brake are labeled Bendix. Everything appears to be original, I am a enthusiast of vintage lightweights, so my knowledge of these bikes is nil, but I would say it is circa late sixties- early seventies. There are no pictures on this site that look quite like this bike- if you know anthing, or where else to look, please help-Bill by: 75.71.252.201 |
There's a Montgomery Ward Open Road musclebike in the Picture Database here. by: 205.179.119.126 |
