Iv"e got this ol bike that looks similiar to a ol stingray It is made by schwinn (says so on the bike) But no banana seat?? Several people have spotted it on my backporch and have ask if it was for sale. can you help me with approx year and value? Thanks-- H.G. How do I send picture? by: 76.206.31.66 |
Seems to be a Schwinn "Typhoon" 20" version. They had the 20" sting-ray styled frame; but with a regular seat. They are the daddy of the Sting-ray. There value does not rival that of sting-rays; but still a good find. by: 208.118.203.177 |
see if the # is at the headset(69' and up) or on the rear dropout (68' and down) i believe. oldroads has a neat serial # i.d. chart that you can track the exact yr. by: 66.30.161.240 |

A friend gave me this bike. I'm going to sand-blast the frame and powder-coat it. I'd like to identify the make/model to make it easier to find parts. It has two stickers and a serial number. One sticker says "Jet-Star" another says "Rallye Sport Made in Germany" The serial number has the word OK inside a triangle, then the numbers 3340556 (as far as I can tell) Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated! =) |
When I was a kid back in the early 70's, I had a red white and blue bike called Mr. America, said so right on the chain guard. I believe it may have been a Huffy, but I'm not sure. I have been looking for many years for information, pictures or an actual bike! If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all! by: 24.220.79.75 |
I have the Miss America girls stingray bike your talking about in your inquiry. It was sold by Coast to Coast stores. The bicycle is complete and rates about 7 out of 10 for condition. Shoot me a price range of what your looking at paying and I'll gladly send some pictures if you want. by: 71.97.141.173 |
Hi,I just bought a 1969 StingRay frame to restore. I got an idea that it would look cool painted like a Black Phantom. I would call it a Phantom StingRay. My question is was there ever a horn tank made to fit a StingRay? If not I will settle for the Phantom colors Thanks Steve by: 75.3.132.134 |
