FOR SALE:   Late 1950s Rochet coming posted by: Vin - Menotomy Vintage Bicycles at OldRoads.com on 2/22/2011 at 10:06:12 AM
This morning I looked at a 1957-ish Rochet.
Original owner.
They gave me a couple photos of it, which I will post tomorrow.
I'm going to go back next week and measure it and take my own photos.

We'll be selling it for the owner, so watch for updates.

Vin, nice little bike, deserves to be put back together properly.
The 543 gear, not original, could have more value than you think. About 2 years ago H Stone sold a NOS 543 to a japanese collector for I think a ridiculous £4000.
Might be worth a try on its own, as it's twin wire, and the bike isn't.

Thanks much for the info, Keith.

Here's some more on it. The shop is surprising busy considering it's about 20 degrees out and I'm the only one working here today.

I took pictures but cannot get them uploaded until tomorrow.

Best Regards,
Vin

I've only cleaned it up enough to read the markings. Otherwise it is untouched.

Here are photos the owner gave me. They are from around 12 years ago.
I'll be taking current pictures and measuring the cycle next week.

Very cool. I love the way the handlebars have been reversed. Normally, the reverser simply flips drop bars up so the brake levers are on top. (That must make for interesting braking: your weight would shift onto the levers as you slow down!) Here, the levers have been moved and the bars retaped. I want to drop by the shop and see this baby when it arrives. My sister has a Rochet and loves it.
