Vin, nice little bike, deserves to be put back together properly. The 543 gear, not original, could have more value than you think. About 2 years ago H Stone sold a NOS 543 to a japanese collector for I think a ridiculous £4000. Might be worth a try on its own, as it's twin wire, and the bike isn't. by: 188.8.131.52
Here's some more on it. The shop is surprising busy considering it's about 20 degrees out and I'm the only one working here today.

1957, give or take 2 years in either direction. We're selling it for the original owner. It was originally purchased in Michigan. The owner says it was a track bike which was converted for regular riding for - as she describes herself - a rich kid.
I've only cleaned it up enough to read the markings. Otherwise it is untouched.

Very cool. I love the way the handlebars have been reversed. Normally, the reverser simply flips drop bars up so the brake levers are on top. (That must make for interesting braking: your weight would shift onto the levers as you slow down!) Here, the levers have been moved and the bars retaped. I want to drop by the shop and see this baby when it arrives. My sister has a Rochet and loves it. by: 220.127.116.11
